Spreadsheets

Explore, edit and write-back.

Update records, plan forecasts, and collaborate right where your data lives. Write changes back to your databases and trigger workflows that keep work moving.

Try it yourself

Type a formula. Watch the chart follow.

This is the Spreadsheet visual in Trulyp Analytics. Change a forecast and the formula cells and the chart that uses the spreadsheet as its data source follow at once. Every save is written back to your database and shows up in the schema audits in WriteBackExtreme.

  • Changes you save appear here, with old and new values.

Click a forecast cell and type a number or a formula such as =C2*1.1. Press Enter to save.

Plan, adjust, write back.

Build forecasts, test scenarios, and refine assumptions in one place. See the impact of your changes and write them back to your data.

Work with data the Excel way.

Filter, group, and sort your data, then update values directly in the table and write changes back to your database.

Keep the conversation with the data.

Add comments to specific marks, reply to colleagues, and track changes over time. Keep decisions and context alongside the numbers.

Four kinds of input

One tool for every kind of input.

Pick the schema that fits the job. Trulyp creates the table, the form and the permissions for you.

  • Add data

Collect targets, budgets and forecasts as new records, one row per submission.

  • Data correction

Fix and update existing rows in place, with the original values kept in the audit trail.

  • Data helper

Maintain mapping tables and supporting lists that used to live in stray Excel files.

  • Collaboration

Discuss marks with comments, priorities, assignees and replies, right next to the numbers.

Built for real planning work

The details that make it stick.

Everything people expect from a spreadsheet, plus the governance your data team needs.

  • Excel-style formulas

Type =C2*1.1 or =SUM(C2:F2) in a cell. Trulyp saves the formula and the result.

  • Spreadsheets feed charts

Every editable spreadsheet is a data source for the other visuals, which refresh as soon as you save.

  • Audits and undo

Every change is audited: who, when, which record and which values. Undo and redo in the spreadsheet restore the saved rows.

  • Interpolate and bulk edit

Fill the gap between two known values, or add, subtract, multiply or divide a whole selection at once.

  • Bulk import

Paste or upload rows from Excel or CSV, map the columns and write them back in one go.

  • Row-level security

Entitlements decide which rows each member sees and edits, down to region or cost centre.

  • Editable conditions

Only allow input where it makes sense, for example when SUM(Sales) is above a threshold.

  • Cascading dropdowns

Dropdowns that depend on each other, filled from your own tables, with validation and masking.

  • Permissions per team

Eleven separate rights per schema, from view and edit to delete and roll back other people's changes.

Connect to data wherever it lives.

Read from and write back to major databases, including Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, and SAP HANA. Connect to Tableau VDS or build your own semantic models in Trulyp. More semantic providers are on the way.

Supported databases

Keep work moving with workflows.

Turn data changes into action with Zapier, Salesforce Flow, or Microsoft Power Automate. Choose a trigger, select the data to send, and automate the next step. Connect custom workflows through webhooks or stored procedures.

Everybody is using the dashboard made with WriteBackExtreme because it's straightforward and intuitive. People know what they have to do. If you want to make your life easier, use extensions. It helps a lot.
